The Frederick Symphony Orchestra (FSO) will perform Moscow On The Monocacy on Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Jack B. Kussmaul Theater at Frederick Community College.
Our first Masterworks concert of the 2017-2018 season will open with The Star-Spangled Banner by Frederick native Francis Scott Key before celebrating Russian composers Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Sergei Rachmaninoff.
The United States’ national anthem will be followed by Waltz from Eugene Onegin with guest conductor Andrew Rosenfeld and Symphony No. 2 “Little Russian” in C Minor by Tchaikovsky.
This classical music concert will also feature piano soloist Rachel Franklin during Piano Concerto No. 2, Op. 18 in C Minor by Rachmaninoff.
In regards to Franklin’s third appearance with the Frederick Symphony Orchestra, she said she’s “delighted to be returning under the baton of Maestro Glenn Quader.”
As a popular music speaker, masterclass teacher, and competition judge for aspiring musicians, Franklin spends time on her unique video blog, Speaking of Music, and maintains a private studio in Silver Spring. For more information about our piano soloist, click here.
