The Frederick Symphony Orchestra will perform Eloquent Elgar on May 5, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. at Jack B. Kussmaul Theater in Frederick Community College.

The concert will feature the FSO Young Artist Showcase winner, pianist Michelle Tang, 16. The Montgomery Blair High School sophomore will perform Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor, Op. 18.

“I’m really honored to be this year’s winner,” Tang said. “I…feel very lucky to have been given this opportunity because I know how hard all the competitors have worked and how difficult it is.”

The classical music concert will also feature works by United Kingdom-born composer Edward Elgar, including Froissart Overture, Serenade for Strings with guest conductor Andrew Rosenfeld, Enigma Variations, and Salut d’amour (Love’s Greeting).

Classical concert tickets are available at www.mdtix.com/frederick-symphony.html or by clicking on the button below. All classical concert tickets can be purchased in advance or on the day of the event based on seating arrangements.
