Duke Ellington’s Nutcracker

NOTE: Tonights concerts will follow Frederick Community College's incliment weather policy. The concerts will proceed as planned unless otherwise noted on: http://frederick.edu/ The Frederick Symphony Orchestra’s holiday concert, Duke Ellington’s Nutcracker, is full of fun, classic holidays songs, opening with Anderson’s Christmas Festival. Tom Mitchell, one of the soloists for this concert, will perform a stunning rendition of Prayer From A Jewish Life No. 1 followed by a solo performance of J. Rutter's Suite Antique by Paulela Burchill. The solo performance will be followed up with a holiday favorite, The Nutcracker by both Tchaikovsky and Duke Ellington. After a brief intermission, the FSO plans to perform Ancient Airs and Dances Set I by Respighi, Suite Antique by Rutter and will close with the annual Holiday Pops sing-along by Cerulli.
