The Frederick Symphony Orchestra will perform Mozart On The Civil War Trail on Feb. 11 at 3 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Middletown.
The second and final Symphony Spotlight Series chamber concert will feature German composer Ludwig van Beethoven’s Septet in Eb Major, Op. 20 and a selection of Civil War songs by the brass ensemble.
The concert will also include French composer Camille Saint-Saëns’ Septet in Eb Major, Op. 65 (15), as well as Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp in C Major, K. 299. The latter will be performed by soloists Paulela Burchill and Casey Perley.
After the concert, a special presentation will commemorate Zion Lutheran Church’s role as a former field hospital and rededicate the church’s Civil War-era clock.
